2015...finally

It's been a while, but here are some pictures of early 2015. We had lots of snow, which the big girls loved playing in. I'm not sure what this pose is, though...

Caroline reading her scriptures.

She loves wearing around her Tigger costume.

For Jason's birthday the girls made a "pin the birthday hat on the Daddy" game. It was pretty funny.

Jason went to a conference in Orlando and brought back these huge Minnie ears for Savannah. We all thought they were pretty hilarious.

When we hear Jason open the garage after work, the girls all start squealing and running to hide, so they can surprise him. Caroline hides under the bench and Savannah around the corner from the stairs. They get pretty frantic to get to their hiding places.

I asked Clara to put away some toilet paper in my bathroom one day, and when I came back there later I found a lovely toilet paper pyramid.

It's Christmastime in the city

For Christmas we drove up to NYC to spend it with my sister Allison and my dad. Her roommates were gone, so we all crammed into her apartment. It was cozy! And a lot of fun. We didn't take many pictures on the camera; we mostly took them on our phones. I haven't gotten them off my phone, so these are the photos I have to share. If I can figure out how to get more, I'll share them too.

We had such a great time. The weather was pretty good, and Allison took us to some great restaurants. I took the girls to lunch at the American Girl Doll store, we saw the Rockefeller tree, the Empire State Building all lit up, and wandered around Central Park. Allison lives right next to the park, and when the sun came out on Christmas morning we all went ice skating in the park. It was a blast. Everyone was happy, no one fell, there was fun music playing, the sun was shining!

The day after Christmas we drove up to Connecticut to visit our friends the Larsons, who moved up their after their residency here. Andrea is one of my best friends, and we were all so happy to see each other again.

One of the highlights of the trip was when Jason, Allison and I took the big girls to see the play Cinderella. It was so magical! The music was great, and it was just fantastic. We have the album now, and we've listened to it pretty much non stop since Christmas.

Allison got the big girls matching pajamas with their dolls, and for Caroline she got red pajamas and  Grinch sweater.

Caroline used the back of her wrapping paper to color on.

We visited the American Museum of Natural History, which was awesome. The girls have been watching a show called Wild Kratz, which is about two zoologist brothers who turn into cartoons and study animals. They were super excited to know what all the animals were.

They're touching a real dinosaur bone! Can't you sense Savannah's excitement!

DC Temple Lights

We headed over to DC to see the temple lights on our way to NYC for Christmas. It was rainy and freezing, but the girls enjoyed it. And look, we all made it into a picture at the same time!

Rewind to October

Here's a quick rewind of October:
Savannah turned four!

Caroline's fetish with socks was made manifest

We carved (instead of painted) pumpkins for the first time in a few years. Caroline was intrigued by the pumpkin goop.

Weirdly enough, Halloween was moved back one day to accommodate the high school football games...so the weather turned out to be really nice. Weird. I know.

Savannah is learning to read Dick and Jane books.

One Saturday afternoon we went to the park with our rake. We became the hot spot for all the kids in the park. So fun!

First Time Chocolatiers

Jason wanted to try his hand at making chocolates this Christmas. It was easier than we thought it would be. The girls enjoyed getting covered in chocolate and having it harden on their fingers. We dipped coconut, fudge, caramel and peanut butter. The favorites were coconut and peanut butter. Success!

This was an unplanned shot of the girls expressing their desire to gobble down all the chocolate.

Clara the Baller

Clara has started playing on her school basketball team. She's had a fun time, although they've lost both of their games so far.

She got to pick her number, and picked 2 because her birthday is on the 2nd.

Jason signed up to be the assistant coach.

Can you tell what Savannah thought of the game?

Tidbits from August

Clara's first day of second grade. Jason doesn't have to go into work super early to work, so he's been taking  her up to the bus stop everyday. So wonderful!

We borrowed these costumes from my sister. Savannah and Caroline especially love them, and Clara was a good sport about trying it on. Savannah has a little stuffed Pooh Bear that she has recently named "Pooby" that Caroline is always trying to get her hands on. Savannah gave Caroline her big "Oklahoma Pooh Bear"---but the little one is always the coveted bear.

Caroline is forever climbing on this stool and goes right for the toothbrushes. What a stinker.

Clara was so happy that she could lure Caroline onto her lap with chocolate ice cream.

This is the castle for Queen Savannah. The big stack of pillows is the ammunition for the "Catapulter" to catapult to any thieves that come to steal from the Queen.
